What the Parish Council Does
The Council has the right of representation on planning matters, which includes all planning applications and structure plan proposals. The Council considers planning applications and submits its comments on these to the Planning Authority, Epping Forest District Council, who are responsible for making the decisions in such matters.

The Council takes its responsibilities towards the maintenance of its footpaths seriously.
It wishes to promote the use of the footpaths in the area for recreation and leisure
purposes. There are over sixty designated footpaths in Matching and the council works
with the local farmers and residents; Essex Country Care; Essex County and Epping
Forest District Councils to ensure they are well maintained.
Grants
The Council is able to support local voluntary organisations in a small way. Applications can be received at any time, and should be submitted to the Parish Clerk.
